Welcome to the Family of St. Elizabeth's Church, Horwich.

We are an active, relaxed and family focussed friendly church, delighted to welcome new people.

Please take a few moments to read this information and to look through our pages.

                                                                                               Contact Us

Our services and their 'types' are listed under the 'Worship / Services' tab.

                                                                                     Worship / Services

There are also details of seasonal services during Advent (before Christmas) and Lent (before Easter) when applicable.

There is ample parking outside the Church and on the adjacent car park.   Find Us

All our morning services begin at 10.00 am.

(On the first Sunday of each month there is also an additional 1662 Communion Service which starts at 8.45 am).

There are usually people at the church from 9.40 am and we meet and chat before the service. The young people join us in Church at the start of the service and then leave after (usually) the second song for their own teaching in 'Energize' (aged from pre-school to 11 years) or Pathfinders (11 - 14 years).

If we have children too young for Energize, there is a carpeted area at the back of Church with activity bags and toys for them to enjoy whilst we have an opportunity to listen to the service.

There is a kitchen and toilet to one side of the building and also the vestry if youngsters need some time out. Please don't feel anxious about any happy noise, crying, general disturbance or roaming children. We are used to it and very glad to have you with us. Usually the leaders and preachers (speakers) are completely unfazed by it all and just carry on without pausing!

We have a brand new P.A. system (with a T loop available) and are keen on powerpoint presentations, video clips and visual aids! The words for the songs and the service are dispalyed on the screen.

If it is a Communion service (sharing bread and wine) the wardens ill guide us up to the front in turn.

Following all the morning services there are (FairTrade) refreshments in the vestry (part of the Church) and the opportunity to chat, make friends and catch up with the news of the past week. There is always someone to talk to!! If we have young people in Sunday Club or Pathfinders they join us in Church when they finish or we collect them from the Church Hall behind the Church.

We have a weekly notice sheet which you are welcome to take away with you which outlines the events for the coming week and flags up meetings / information of importance.

The most recent is available on the web site with some back dated issues too.
